After school creative cookery celebrates Burns Night
22 January 2025
A select few chose to make Cranachan on Tuesday evening with Mrs Cowell in celebration of the upcoming Scottish Burns Night.
Year 7 pupils took turns whipping the cream and toasting the oats before layering their sweet treats with raspberries to take home to enjoy with family.
Mrs Cowell said, “Traditionally the pudding has a ‘wee dram’ of whiskey in it, but of course these youngsters didn’t put that in theirs!”
Burns Night is celebrated every year on 25 January in honour of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. It is traditionally celebrated with a dinner consisting of haggis, neeps, and tatties - more commonly known as turnips and potatoes.
Looks like fun - Lewis B, Zara Q, Joshua W and Ruby-Rose A.
