School Choirs Come Together For One Voice Concert

Tyndale Thomas MBE, one of the leading gospel musicians in the UK returned to Priory on Wednesday, 30th April.

Tyndale worked with our own Priory singers, All Saints Primary from New Longton, Longton Primary School choir and Cop Lane Primary School choir in a daytime workshop and evening concert.

The professional musician works nationwide but is based in the North West and has extensive experience at performing and conducting at major venues around the country such as Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day and through many broadcasts at the BBC.

For a number of years, Tyndale has lead the One Voice Community Choir in Preston and together they produced the album ‘The Greatest Gospel Album in the World......Ever’’. With Tyndale, One Voice has also appeared on Songs of Praise several years ago.

Lead Teacher of Music, Mr Taylor, who organised the event at Priory on Wednesday evening said, “Both our own Priory pupils and those of our feeder primary schools gained greatly from Tyndale’s expertise and the performances alongside the Preston One Voice Community Choir. Together with the audience participation, the concert resulted in a great night of uplifting entertainment. It was tremendous to see the hall so full of a lively atmosphere of music-making and it is unbelievable to think that everyone who performed learnt their songs in just one day.”
