Remembrance at Priory
14 November 2025

In remembrance of those who served and lost their lives in conflict, last Sunday our head prefects represented Priory at Penwortham's Remembrance service.
Accompanied by Head of Year 11, Mrs Eastham, the four prefects paid their respects at Liverpool Road's war memorial. Kacper and Tarela were asked to read out the names of Penwortham's WWII fallen, and Yasmine and Hiylie laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
"When you go home, tell them of us and say, for their tomorrow we gave our today."

What is Armistice?
Armistice was an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations. It began at 11am on 11 November 1918.
Armistice is Latin for to stand (still) arms.
To this day we mark Armistice Day around the United Kingdom with a two minute silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.
"At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them."
