Image of A Fantastic Afternoon Enjoyed at Priory’s Half‑Term Rewards Day

On Monday, 9 February, Priory pupils enjoyed an afternoon of fun as part of our half‑term rewards programme. The event recognised those who have consistently upheld the Priory Standard, maintained 95%+ attendance, and made positive choices throughout the term.

Hard work and commitment were rewarded with a range of exciting activities across school during Periods 5 and 6. Pupils selected their preferred activity in advance, with each option offering something a little different - and there was plenty of enthusiasm and energy wherever you looked

Film Screenings

Our film rooms were filled with pupils settling in with friends to enjoy one of two popular new releases. Year 7 & 8 were swept away by the adventure and heart of The Wild Robot, while it was the action‑packed Minecraft movie for Year 9 & 10.  The screenings proved to be a perfect way for pupils to unwind and enjoy some downtime together.

Hands-On Creativity in Food Tech and Science

In Food Technology, pupils rolled up their sleeves to make delicious American‑style pancakes. The kitchen was filled with the smell of sizzling batter, and the finished results, complete with toppings, were devoured with pride.

Over in Science, pupils got stuck into a brilliantly messy slime‑making workshop. Using a mixture of cornflour, shaving foam and PVA glue, they experimented with ingredients to create their very own slime. It was equal parts learning and laughter.

Games, Hot Chocolate and Friendly Competition

The library played host to a cosy games afternoon where pupils gathered around tables to enjoy everything from Uno to chess. The atmosphere was relaxed and sociable, made even more special with a cup of hot chocolate in hand.

Sports and Outdoor Fun

For those who preferred something more active, pupils headed to the Sports Hall and 3G pitch for darts, table tennis and football. These sessions were full of friendly competition and plenty of energy.

Mrs Massey, who organised the event, said, “The rewards afternoon highlighted the best of Priory: pupils showing maturity, making the right choices and embracing opportunities to grow. It was a pleasure to celebrate their achievements in such a positive way.”

A huge well done to all pupils who qualified this half term. We look forward to seeing their fantastic attitude continue.  We will be celebrating the next rewards event on Thursday, 26 March with inflatables in the Sports Hall!
