It may come as no surprise but our current crop of Year 7s have a definite favourite subject – PE!
We asked a group about how they had found their first year at Priory, their favourite subjects and what they would say to a Year 6 who is coming to Priory in September.
Arthur, who came from Broad Oak Primary School, said: “I enjoy Priory as I have more freedom at break times. We play football or go to the canteen.
“I go to the 3D Printing Club and my favourite subject is definitely PE.
“Priory is much better than primary school!”
Jess, from Orrell Lamberhead Green Community Primary school, said: “I came here only knowing one person but I have really enjoyed it.
“After a few weeks I had tons of new friends and I am on the School Council. Our job is to make Priory even better but it is already a very good school, there are only little improvements to make.
“I like Priory as it is inclusive, whether it’s religion or disabilities, it is a very accepting school.
“To anyone currently in Year 6, I would say talk to people and always have a smile on your face which makes you more welcoming.”
Ernie, who attended New Longton Primary School, said: “I like break times and free time. I play football when I can!”
Ellie, who went to St Stephen’s, said: “My favourite subjects are English and Art. I was nervous when I first came to school but I soon settled in. It looks a big school but once you settle in, it’s fine.”
Anissa also came from St Stephen’s. She said: “I like PE and I play football. I would say to the Year 6s not to worry as you can make new friends or stay with your existing friends. It is easy to find your way around.”
Brooke came from Hoole St Michael’s CoE Primary School. She said: “I like all the sports here so my favourite lesson is PE.
“I have played netball and I am going to join the rounders and athletics clubs this term.
“I was nervous as I was one of the only ones from my school but I settled in. If you are alone or get lost, you just have to ask for help.”
Chloe, who attended Whitefield Primary School, said: “I love PE and sports. It’s so different from primary school as there are so may different sports in PE lessons and clubs.
“I am on the Eco-Committee and I am also going to join the rounders club. My advice would be not to be scared as all the staff are really nice.”
Emily, from St Mary’s, added: “I like PE and I would let a Year 6 know that there is always someone to help.”
