Mrs Gidden's cool reader's club - Jessica
27 January 2022
Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...
These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher. We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading. Introducing Jessica...
Jessica has to be an ultra Cool Reader as she has read over two million words since she first came to Priory in September!
That’s an amazing 41 books and Year 7 Jessica has set herself a target of 100 books before the end of the school year.
She is currently reading Second Form at St Clare’s by Enid Blyton, first published in 1944!
“I like Enid Blyton’s style of writing, her word choices, and I like reading about boarding school and what everyone got up to. It’s really entertaining.
“I also like author Jacqueline Wilson, who created Tracy Beaker.
“I have read over two millions words but I do read every opportunity I get.
“English is my favourite subject and I would like to be an author.”
In between her reading, Jessica does find time to do other activities, mainly gymnastics.
“I am a member of South Ribble Gymnastics Club and have been for four years. I go every Thursday for two hours and I like learning new tricks.”
Update 27 January 2022:
Since we met with Jessica for this article, she has contributed massively to her word count, which now stands at 4,933,535 words!
