Mrs Potter is Priory’s new Assistant Head of Science.

Mrs Potter joined Priory at the end of the last academic year after moving from a school in Warrington.

“I moved into the area, and I knew of Priory’s reputation, so I am thrilled to be the Assistant Head of Science here.”

Mrs Potter has been teaching for 14 years and always loved science in school.

“I liked doing STEM experiments at school – they were the fun things!

“I studied A-Levels in Chemistry, Physics and Maths and then did my degree and Masters in Chemistry at The University of Manchester.

“I did actually go into industry for a year but thought I would get bored with doing the same thing. That’s the main difference in teaching – no day is ever the same!”

Mrs Potter is currently teaching Physics.

“Out of school I enjoy running and learned how to crochet during lockdown."

Head of Science, Mr Bedford, said, "Mrs Potter is a great addition to our team, another experienced and diligent professional. She has already made a positive impression on many of our students and will be a valuable member of staff for the science department.

"While it was unfortunate that we lost both Miss Nouraghaeii and Mr Cox at Easter last year, both moved on to Head of Department roles in other schools. This is testament to the culture and attitude of staff within the department. We are lucky to have recruited Mrs Potter, not just as an outstanding teacher but as a teacher of physics! She will play an integral role within the department, helping us to continue our trend of exceeding national averages in GCSE results for the third successive year.
