Year 11 sets himself high ambitions

MacKenzie has hit the heights – as he has had what he hopes is the first of many flying lessons.

The Year 11 has ambitions to be a pilot and took to the air above Preston for his first lesson recently.

“I have always loved planes and have wanted to be a pilot since I was a kid,” said MacKenzie.

“My nan bought me a lesson for my birthday, it was half-an-hour.

“I learnt the basics of flying and it was really enjoyable. I went up around 3000 feet. We flew from Blackpool, over the tower, towards Preston and Fleetwood and back to Blackpool. I want to save up for more now I have had a taste of it.”
