Punching Above His Weight: Leevi’s Boxing Dreams
28 March 2025
Year 10 Leevi is hoping to make it into big time boxing.
Dedicated Leevi trains around six times a week at the Lancashire School of Boxing in Preston.
Leevi said: “I got into it when I was around nine through my dad. I fight at Under 15 level now at 66 kg.
“It is hard to get to the weight at times. If it’s a home show you can go 2kg either way but if it’s a competition, it has to be spot on so it means not eating the day before!
“I love it though. I have won fights and lost a few. I did cry when I lost my first fight when I was younger but I have learnt to accept it as it’s all part of it.
“I admire a lot of southpaws. I like Vasyl Lomachenko for his passion, Gervonta Davis for his power and Olek Sandr Usyk as he is just a brilliant boxer!
“I would love to make a career out of it as I want to give my mum and dad an early retirement.”
