Lois Walks in Memory of Her Dad to Help Bereaved Children
16 September 2025
Year 8 Lois has been walking in memory of her dad Ray to raise money for Child Bereavement UK.
Lois lost her dad suddenly in 2021 when she was eight and decided she wanted to do something in his memory.
June is a difficult month as it was her dad’s birthday and it’s also Father’s Day.
“I decided to walk 127km in July as 127 children in the UK lose a parent each day.
“I had fundraised for Cash for Kids a while ago but I decided to do something that was more personal to me and chose Child Bereavement UK.
“I had a tracker on my phone and my friends walked laps of Priory with me. I was amazed to raise £380.
“This will help people who are struggling living without their parent as it is hard.
“My dad used to take me to watch Preston North End and we used to go to the park together.”
