The DofE season here at Priory has really kicked off this week, with two of our Silver DofE groups heading out for their activity days in the Lake District.

We started on Monday at a very windy Wastwater, where both groups took to the canoes and embraced some challenging and at times chaotic water sports. On the way home, pupils stopped at McDonald’s, and we allowed the students to choose the music for the drive back. This lasted a respectable 30 minutes before Mrs Kursitis and Mrs Cauchi felt it was time to step in and educate them on some better music choices.

On Tuesday, the wind once again caused issues, so we adapted our plans and headed to Langdale for some ghyll scrambling; a first for many. This involved climbing, scrambling, and wading up a mountain stream, tackling waterfalls and rocky sections along the way. The students showed fantastic resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout the day.

We were supported by Path to Adventure, who have had nothing but praise for our pupils, commenting on their attitude, behaviour, and how well they supported one another, something we are incredibly proud of.

A brilliant start to the DofE season and a fantastic reflection of the Priory spirit.

Our next activity day takes place on Monday, 20th April, we’re really looking forward to it!
