This week we were delighted to welcome our new intake of pupils and their families as they began their journey with us at Priory.

Monday evening saw our New Pupil & Parent event, where families had the opportunity to meet key staff, ask questions, and gather essential information about uniform, transport, and the transition to high school.

Mr Eastham addressed parents in the Assembly Hall, introducing the school’s values, expectations, and support systems. Meanwhile, in the Auditorio, Mrs Farley welcomed our new pupils and introduced them to their future classmates. Year 7 pupils, Alyx and Arthur spoke confidently about their own experiences of starting at Priory, before the children spent time getting to know their Form Tutors in their new environment.

On Thursday, our new pupils returned for their official Transition Day. The day began with a welcome from Mr Eastham in the Assembly Hall, followed by some fun icebreaker activities – including a lively game of ‘getting to know you’ bingo! Pupils then took part in taster lessons in English, Maths and PE, helping them get a feel for the school day and build confidence ahead of September.

Mrs Farley, who has been visiting pupils in their primary schools over the past few months, said: “It was such a joy to finally have the whole year group together for their Transition Day. There was a real buzz of excitement in the air, and although a few pupils arrived with understandable nerves, they quickly settled in and

embraced the day. From exploring the school site to getting stuck into lessons and activities, they really impressed us with their enthusiasm and curiosity. I’m confident they’ll make a fantastic start in September – and I know many are already looking forward to Summer School!”

Before heading home, our Year 7 helpers gave the new pupils a guided tour of the school, including our award-winning gardens, the Hex, Technology block, sports facilities, and more.

A huge thank you to our brilliant Year 7 and Year 10 helpers who supported both events – your confidence and leadership made a big difference!

Parents have now received a ‘First Day Arrangements’ letter, which will also be available to download at:

We look forward to seeing many of our new pupils again at Summer School on 19 & 20 August, and welcoming everyone officially on Wednesday, 2 September.
