Year 9 girls represented the school with enthusiasm and teamwork at a South Ribble Schools Rounders Tournament, delivering a series of closely fought performances.
The team grew in confidence as the tournament progressed, working cohesively in each game and demonstrating impressive skills across the field. Strong bowling and sharp fielding were particular highlights, with several well-executed plays preventing the opposition from building momentum and scoring freely.
Although results did not quite fall in their favour, each match was tightly contested, with only narrow scorelines separating the teams. The girls showed great resilience and determination throughout, supporting one another and maintaining a positive attitude.
Team spirit was especially evident in the final game against Balshaw’s, where the players rallied together with encouragement led by Sandra B. A number of excellent catches and stumpings showcased their developing skills and determination to finish the tournament strongly.
Miss Beesley praised the team’s efforts, saying, “The girls played well together and grew in confidence with every game. Their bowling and fielding were particularly strong, and although the results didn’t go our way, they showed fantastic team spirit right through to the final match.”
Well done to all involved for a spirited and encouraging performance.
