Six Priory pupils proudly represented South Ribble at the Lancashire Schools Athletics Championships held at ULan Sports Arena on Saturday, 13 June, competing against some of the strongest school and club athletes from across the county.
The talented group delivered a series of impressive performances on one of the biggest stages in the county athletics calendar.
Year 9 Hollie L secured an excellent third-place finish in the 100m, finishing behind two athletes from the year above. In the 200m, Year 10 Eliza G competed strongly in a highly competitive field to claim sixth place.
In the field events, Year 8 Keelan Smith impressed in the Year 8/9 Javelin competition, throwing more than 21 metres against a strong line-up of athletes.
There was further success in the Discus, where two Priory students earned places on the podium. Year 9 Oliver J achieved an outstanding second-place finish, while Year 10 Noah W claimed third place, capping off a memorable day for the school.
Representing South Ribble against the county's top young athletes is a significant achievement in itself, and the pupils demonstrated great determination, skill and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Mr Bullock, Head of PE & Sport, said: "We are incredibly proud of all six students. To compete for South Ribble at this level is a fantastic achievement, and they represented Priory brilliantly with some outstanding individual performances. Their commitment and hard work continue to set a great example for others."
