Building work on Priory’s new £1.4M IT suite and community space is moving forward.

The ROSLA block, or ‘B Block’ as it was also known, will be demolished in the coming weeks to make way for a new IT suite along with a space downstairs which will be used by the school and the community.

The ROSLA block (Raising Of The School Leaving Age) was built in the late 1960s when the school leaving age increased, as a temporary structure with a timber frame.

Mr Bolton, Priory’s Facilities Manager, said, “We’re starting to see external demolition taking place and some of the cladding has been removed to check that the bats have now left”.

Builders are starting to knock the rooms out downstairs and remove plaster-board from walls.  All materials will be recycled where possible.
