Girls into Engineering
25 June 2018
To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day on Monday, one of the largest training providers in Lancashire invited local schools to have a go in their workshops.
Technology teacher, Mr Fraser took a group of keen Year 9 pupils off to Training 2000, based in Blackburn, to take part in their ‘Girls into Engineering’ taster session. This was an exciting opportunity for the young ladies to experience what its like to become an engineering apprentice and witness first hand the varied role an engineer undertakes.
Our Careers Adviser, Mr Ficorilli, went along too to find out how more girls can be encouraged to take up careers in the sector.
