REPORT BY MISS BEESLEY, GIRLS PE TEACHER

On 12 June Priory's girls took part in a small cricket tournament at Penwortham Cricket Club which provided the opportunity for them to practice their skills and build their on their playing experience.

The U13s played against teams from All Hallows and Bishops Rawstorne. The small tournament meant schools played each other twice to create more game experience for the girls.

Miss Beesley said, "This was the first time the girls had played together as a team and they gradually got into the swing of things, with some great bowling from Ruth W, fielding from Daisy G and batting from Lainie W-S".

The tournament resulted in third position for the U13s, however their runs increased match by match leading to much promise for the future.  Well done girls!

The U15s also played against All Hallows A and B team and Bishops Rawstorne, with harsher rules, being in the older category.

The team produced some fantastic shots from Mia B throughout the tournament who retired alongside Jane W and Mia C against All Hallows B team.

In the end, the girls narrowly missed out on a win against All Hallows by just two runs, with the overall result putting them in fourth place, but again showing great teamwork throughout the tournament.
