Eco Club's Leyland Road Gardening Project
7 October 2024
Last Friday, Mrs Massey and three Eco Club members went out into the community.
Working with Jayne Charlton from South Ribble Borough Council, Mrs Massey, along with Year 9s Harley F-N, Kenzie S and Harry C, set about improving the planters on Leyland Road, Lostock Hall.
The planters, situated just after the railway bridge, were overgrown and badly in need of some TLC. The group tidied the planters, clearing weeds and dead plants.
Mrs Massey said, "We kept what we thought would grow again and planted spring bulbs and some new plants. The boys were full of enthusiasm, they got stuck in and were an absolute credit."
This activity supports the school’s mission ‘To be a school that cares about the local and wider environment and takes action to improve it’.
Eco Club is looking for more recruits! if you want to find out more about what they do then pop along to SC1 every Friday lunchtime or see Mrs Massey.
