Talented pianist Agnes came third in a national piano competition.

Year 11 Agnes attended the Lytham Performing Arts Festival and entered two competitions.  She was in the Under 16 category where she was up first and played a composition of her choice. She scored 87 out of 100.

“I played Le Petit Ane Blanc. It was tough as I had to play first out of everyone so I felt under pressure as I had to get the feel of the piano.

“There were people from all over the UK involved. I came third overall which was unexpected!”

Agnes was in the Under 18 section where she chose to play Chopin – she had to play a baroque or a classical piece.

“I finished fourth in that but I was grateful as other competitors were older than me.”

“The festival was a great experience, competing against other talented pianists.

“I am going to enter my ABRSM Grade 8 examination this summer after my GCSEs.”
