Taejuan Helps Launch New Youth Centre in Avenham

Today (20 June), Year 10 pupil Taejuan is taking part in the grand opening of The Foxton Youth and Community Centre in Avenham, a project he has been involved with for over three years.

Taejuan first made headlines in 2023 when, as a Year 9 pupil, he successfully helped secure £2.4 million in government funding for the centre through a bid to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Since then, he has continued to work closely with the team behind the project.

At today’s event, Taejuan will be delivering speeches to dignitaries and government representatives, hosting tours of the new facility, and even speaking with the BBC. 

Cath Coffey, Senior Youth & Community Manager at the Foxton Centre said, “His involvement is part of his ongoing learning and development, and a testament to his commitment to making a difference in his community.”
