Our Year 10 Business & Enterprise pupils are taking part in the Derian House £50 Junior Business Challenge – a fantastic initiative that helps develop entrepreneurial skills while raising funds for a very worthy cause.

During the final week of term (Monday 14 – Friday 18 July), the group has organised a range of fundraising activities, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

Some require a contribution via SCOPay however, some activities will require cash, so we are asking parents and pupils to please do check which events you may wish to take part in. Alongside the events on the poster (see back page), students are also hosting a staff car wash during our last week, with Halfords donating the equipment.

Parents can pay for some of the activities via SCOPay:

  • Raffle tickets - £1 per strip
  • House colours face painting on sports day (inc permission slip) - 50p
  • House colours non-uniform day - £1

Pupils will need to bring cash if they wish to take part in:

  • Guess the name of the teddy - 50p a guess
  • Guess the number of sweets - 50p a guess
  • Bake sale
  • Pupils vs staff penalty shootout (donations bucket)
  • Confectionery stall (sports day)

House Colours Non Uniform Day - Last Day of Term 18 July

Pupils who choose to take part will not be required to wear their school uniform on this day but should wear a top or bottoms in their house colours alongside their own clothes. A hair bobble, wrist band, socks etc on its own will not suffice and garments worn must be sensible and appropriate for the school environment. We look forward to your support with this from home.  Those not wishing to participate should wear their uniform as normal.

For the non-uniform day, we would ask for a donation of £1 from each pupil. There is an option to donate more if you wish via the donations section on SCOPay. Using SCOPay would be our preferred method of donating, however, donations can be made in cash on the day to form tutors or the school office.

In the forthcoming week, pupils will learn about the vital work Derian House undertakes for providing respite and end-of-life care to babies, children and young people across the North West, so they become more informed about this charity prior to donating.

Sports Day House Colours  Face Painting

SCOPay is now live to purchase face painting. The payment incorporates the permission slip that must be completed by parents if pupils would like their face painted in their House colours on Sports Day.

May we thank all families in advance for your support towards our pupils’ business challenge and the work they are doing to raise money for Derian House.
