Year 11 pupil aims high at basketball

Year 11 Cameron is aiming high – he is hoping to go to Myerscough College Basketball Academy. 

Cameron is around 6ft 4" and found a talent for basketball at school. 

“I decided I wanted to take it further after doing it in PE and went to Preston Basketball Club. I was then invited to compete for Myerscough, this is one of the national camps around the UK for basketball. 

“I competed for them at Under 14 level and now I am in the Under 16 team taking on teams from Manchester, Liverpool and so on. 

“It’s a really good sport to be involved in, I enjoy being part of a team.” 

Cameron was recently invited to go to the USA to take part in a two week basketball academy. 

“That was amazing. It was in Seattle and it’s such a different game in the USA to England. I learnt such a lot and it was inspiring. My dream would be to go to America but first I want to go onto Myerscough and do Basketball Studies.”
