REPORTS BY MISS BEESLEY, GIRLS PE TEACHER
Year 11 Netball B League
Year 11 began their netball season on Tuesday, 15 October. Both Walton Le Dale and Worden were our competitors for the B league first round.
Priory's girls got off to a flying start in the first game against Walton Le Dale, with fast passes and quick thinking by the team this allowed the ball to get to our shooters, Navah and Tilly, who continued to shoot with precision and flare.
Being 8-0 up at half time, the girls were in good spirits to start the second half. With great defending from our Goal Defence Aliyah and agility from Centre Alexa this allowed Priory to keep the ball in our attacking end. Resulting in another 8 goals scored! Ending with a 16-1 win.
The second game against Worden however didn’t have the same positive start. Worden were very quick at moving the ball in to the shooting area and outwitting Priory, scoring 8 goals in the first half.
Our captain, Navah, gave a very encouraging and motivational team talk at half time –‘we need to do what we did with WLD, game faces on!’ The girls were ready to go and they did not disappoint – one after the other the ball was quickly moved down the court into the safe hands of our shooters once more.
Each centre pass encouraged the girls to fight for the ball, not giving Worden any chance to continue their lead. There was no room for error and the goals just kept on coming - the girls came back from 8-0 down to an outstanding 8-12 win! An amazing effort – well done!
Team: Aliyah M, Joli T, Navah T, Tilly B, Paige M, Eloise G, Connie B, Alexa G and Ahermoine C.
