Year 7 Football Lancashire Cup Round 1
Before half term our Year 7 girls' football team played their double debut. Firstly as a new team for Priory and secondly their first game of the Lancashire Cup.
Priory were on home soil against local school All Hallows. Our girls got straight into action taking no prisoners and showing their rivals what they are made of. With strong defence from Amaya M and Emily G stopping any goal attempts.
It wasn’t long into the first half when our midfielder Freya B scored her first goal for Priory. This gave the girls the boost they needed and the confidence to prove we’ve got this.
A half time switch around and a few fresh legs later we were ready to go again. With Niamh K not letting anyone near the ball, even when she was taken to the floor! With the attack on our side from Matilda M, Emily P, Reya S and Ellie M, this helped to pave the way for another goal for Freya to make it 2-0. Priory were into their rhythm now, and some cracking saves in both halves from our two goalkeepers, Charlotte and Sophia, to keep a clean sheet for Priory.
The game finished at 2-0 and Priory now progress through to the next round against Archbishop Temple on 6 November.
Team: Back: Niamh K, Charlotte C, Freya B, Amaya M, Sophia G, Emily P, Ellie M, Reya S. Front: Matilda M and Emily G.
