Lily's bookworm picture won over the judges in the ‘Design a Reward Postcard’ competition from the English Department.

The Year 7 competition was co-ordinated by English teacher Mrs Webster and pupils had to design a Reward Postcard which will be sent to parents by teachers to recognise pupils in all year groups who have impressed in English lessons.

Lily’s design was selected as the winning one and she said:  “I am really proud to win. I can’t wait to see my design being used.”

Runners-up were Layla and Eloise.

Layla said: “I felt I had done mine wrong, I almost ran out of space, so I didn’t think I would be placed. I am pleased.”

Eloise said: “I didn’t think mine would be in the top three so it’s nice to be recognised.”

Mrs Webster said: “In the English department, we are always keen to recognise good work so we were excited to see what the students could create for the Reward Postcard competition.

“We had some fantastic entries which really did make it difficult to choose. Congratulations to Lily, Layla and Eloise on their winning designs. We are looking forward to having the postcards printed and in use.”

The girls' designs will next be scanned and set as professional artwork before being sent for printing.  Once back from the printers, the cards will be used for years to come!
